I am a proud native Washingtonian with 21 years of experience serving DC area families with kids of all ages. I received my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree and Master of Social Work (MSW) from George Mason University. As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington, DC, I have had experience in child welfare, LGBT family support & advocacy, international adoption, court programs, school settings (including 9 years at a DC charter school), and established my current private practice, including integrative in-home parent counseling and coaching, in 2013. In these positions, I have supported diverse families with postpartum depression & anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, mood disorders, family conflict, behavioral & social support for toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children and their parents, stress reduction & emotional regulation, media management, bullying (prevention and resolution), healthy relationships, and other parenting needs and concerns.

Trauma, attachment, cultural competency, LGBTQA+ family support, couples dynamics, Postpartum Mood Disorders, ADHD, Neurodiversity, and infant mental health have been primary focuses of my post-graduate training.

In 2014, I became a Certified Gottman Bringing Baby Home Educator and I incorporate this content in my support for couples in my current practice. I have completed training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, EFT for couples, CBT, Perinatal Mood Disorders, intergenerational & complex childhood trauma healing, IFS, Somatic Experiencing, birth trauma, and more.

At home, I have had lots of hands-on parenting experience with my four active sons and young daughter, and am a survivor myself of childhood trauma, postpartum anxiety and depression.

My family is multiracial, and each of my kids helps to inform the perspective I bring to my work, in their own unique way.
